Thrifty Thursday: Reusing Disposable Swim Diapers

Summer is officially here with the heat that we've been having in South Mississippi. We love to spend our time in the water whether here at home, the splash pad or at the beach. Water and regular diapers just don't mix and my little one isn't potty trained yet so the solution? The swim diapers of course! They don't absorb all the pool water and keep the other stuff out of the pool! I bought two packs of these a few weeks ago really cheap at Walgreens (hope you were able to pick some up too!). I realized that these were going to go quickly because we've already been in the water at least once a week every week for the past month! I can't afford to buy a pack of these each week, no matter how cheap I can find them!

Then I heard about a thrifty trick! Wash the swim diapers and they come out like new!

Here's what to do:

1. Toss them in the wash (unless they are poopy or beyond help) with your regular load of clothes.
2. Let them air dry!

Voila! Fresh swim diaper to reuse again. The average use is three washes. DO NOT put them in the dryer or they will become crunchy and not do the job.

Is this a trick you'll try?
