Voice Your Opinion it pays off!
If you've been here at HOC long or you've attended a class I always tell you to take the time to tell companies what you think (or at least I try to remember to tell you that!). Five minutes a day is all it takes to drop a line to a company and tell them your thoughts about their product, good, bad or ugly. Those few minutes usually mean coupons in your mailbox a few weeks later.
Wait! Don't pull up your email, find the contact info for every company you can think of and send a generic email to all of them. BE HONEST! You love their product and don't buy anything else, you hate their product, you haven't tried their product, etc. ALWAYS BE HONEST with your opinion. These companies do want your feedback, but they want honest feedback, not generic emails.
My most recent email went to Schick. Do you remember the deal I posted about Drugstore.com a few weeks ago? The freebies I received were two Schick Hydro 5 Blast razors (that was a mouth full!). Hubby opened one Monday morning and shaved like he always does came out of the bathroom and said I don't like this razor! He looked like he got into a fight with a chainsaw and the chainsaw won! I've bought Schick razors in the past and they've worked just fine so I was very disappointed. So, I stopped what I was doing and dropped a line to Schick and recounted the story I just wrote above, including my name and address.
A response came this morning, with many apologies and the following message:
"This is not typical of the Schick Hydro 5 to cause any nicks or cuts. If you still have any of the refills this happened with, we would like to examine them because of what you have told us. Within the next 7-10 business days, you will be receiving through the mail two replacement coupons that can be applied to the purchase of our Quattro Titanium razor as well as a return label so we may retrieve the Schick Hydro 5 refills for analysis. "
So I will be receiving in the next week coupons to buy the Quattro Titanium razor and packaging to return the bad razors so they can check them out. It took me 5 minutes to send them a message and tell them my experience and in return I'll most likely get free razors.
Worth my time? I think so! So get to work! Send someone an email today and tell them what you think, it just might pay off with a mailbox full of coupons!

Don't bother writing to DiGiorno Pizza! They said no way no how when I politely asked for a coupon to try their product!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I forgot to mention, don't point blank ask for a coupon. Give legitimate feed back and include your name and address. I'll go back and add that statement.
ReplyDeleteI did give them good feedback. I had tried a similar item, found it to be tasty and wrote to them about my experience and asked if they could give a coupon so I could try the sister product. They said their policy is to not send coupons unless a product is defective. I've been doing this for years, I've had a 95% success rate, so I must be doing something right. :-)
