"It’s Vinay with Capri Sun again. I wanted to share some news I just got. After our quality experts determined the sample was mold, we asked an independent lab for an analysis too. Silliker, Inc. – a leading, accredited food testing lab – confirmed it is mold. I’m not trying to say mold isn’t gross, but a second opinion is a good thing."
I've been slowly trying to move my family towards more natural products. Organic milk, organic beef, etc. The one thing we've not given up is Capri Suns. This is not something I would normally do, but we are Capri Sun drinkers (by "we" I mean my 7 year old) and this just grossed me out! I won't be buying anymore Capri Suns no matter what "this" ends up being classified! I've hear people say skin, a rotten apple and a number of other things! Either way, it's not something I want to find inside my child's drink!
A Mom in Florida found this inside her daughter's capri sun pouch! You can view more pictures and see the discussion of the steps she has taken to identify this object here. She has contacted the FDA and the health department. Samples have been sent off and they are waiting on results.

I'll keep ya'll updated whenever "it" is identified!
Just looking at the pic, it does appear to be an apple, but who knows?? I'm just thankful that it has been years since I drank a Capri Sun and I know I won't be drinking one anytime soon! YUCK!
ReplyDeleteI hope that for Kraft's sake(and my gag reflex) that it is just an apple, however the fact that something that large made it's way inside a pouch is very disturbing to me and I think speaks volumes to the lack of quality control in their factory.
ReplyDeleteUGH>> We should really consider not getting things from China.
